    Traditional ballet technique is designed to train and prepare the body and mind for the demands of performing classical ballet.     IQ Q&A: Plantar Fasciitis—FREE!

    Chronic plantar fasciitis is a bit of a medical puzzle. Conventional medicine recommends stretching the calves or supporting flat feet. Nevertheless, many Pilates clients continue to have long-term chronic plantar fasciitis. This half hour session will give you some basic understanding of what plantar fasciitis is and the short and long term steps you can help a client take to manage it.

    STOTT PILATES® Cueing & Modifications on the Reformer for a Client with Postural Issues—NEW!

    Clients with specific postural issues require specialized programming to effectively realign the skeleton and re-balance muscles. This lecture / demo reviews exercises from the Essential Reformer repertoire and explores how these movements can be modified for every individual. Specific postural habits are discussed and attention is paid to muscular imbalances associated with aspects of the following postures: kyphosis-lordosis, sway back and flat back. Together, we’ll select exercises and cues to specifically restore muscle imbalances due to postural habits. This workshop is appropriate for newer instructors, as well as those looking to refine teaching skills.

    IQ workout: Chair Flow—FREE!

    Flow through three short focused segments on the stability chair. You’ll learn the sequence first and then work on the details as you repeat it. Each sequence includes transitions joined with flow and breath, precision and strength. This is a workout class. Space is limited to 6 people.

    Therapeutic Pilates: Advanced Postural & Dynamic Movement Assessment—NEW!

    Working with an injured client is an art. There are thousands of issues that result in pain, many of which are difficult to see initially. Therapeutic Pilates can be an effective tool IF you know where to start and how to interpret the clues. This three-hour practical workshop is created for individuals ready for a thought-provoking, challenging and enriching experience. Participants will be given a systematic Pilates-focused assessment. You’ll be taught how to conduct and interpret each test, and create a set of goals for a therapeutic Pilates program. You’ll enhance your ability to get the most information from a client assessment, problem-solve and use clinical reasoning to become faster and more effective assisting clients. Melanie and her team will share their extensive clinical experience, offer hands-on assistance, provide notes and visual aids to help you expand your understanding and apply your knowledge to your own Pilates practice.

    This workshop is appropriate for participants who’ve certified in STOTT PILATES mat and reformer (or an equivalent certification) and have a minimum of one-year teaching experience. An education in STOTT PILATES Injuries and Special Populations (ISP) course is preferred.

    STOTT PILATES® Athletic Conditioning on the Cardio-Tramp® Rebounder

    In this workshop, participants will learn innovative new programming on the Reformer and Cardio-Tramp® Rebounder. The workout—designed to stimulate both cardiovascular and muscular effectiveness—is ideal for both the recreational and professional athlete. Discover how to combine progressive plyometric intervals—varying both in length and intensity—with muscular strength and endurance on the vertical mini trampoline. The routine features non-traditional Pilates exercises that use the incredible diversity of the Reformer to effectively train both concentric and eccentric muscular ability.

    STOTT PILATES® Twist Ball™ Workout —NEW!

    The Twist Ball—an air and sand-filled weighted workout ball—is one of the newest and greatest tools for challenging dynamic control and developing full body strength. This medium-sized, 6 lbs. ball features sand that shifts when you swing it. Creative whole-body movements will challenge the body’s connective tissue and can be used to develop strength, control, and to manage acceleration and deceleration forces.     This workshop provides instructors with tools to incorporate new fascial research concepts with the STOTT PILATES Essential Matwork repertoire. Following the Essential Matwork order, participants explore how exercise can be enhanced with new fascial research concepts to inspire a different movement experience. Discover seamless movement and flowing exercise sequences that take the body through multiple planes of movement. This workshop sparks creativity in programming. It facilitates participants to tap into their innate body wisdom and find alternative variations that maximize movement potential with any client.

    ZEN•GA® Fascial Fitness: Exploring Arm Lines

    This ZEN•GA workshop incorporates the latest findings in fascial research. It is thought that the myofascial lines act as global tension complexes that stabilize, transmit forces, preserve joint integrity and allow for coordinated movements throughout the skeletal frame. The Arm Line Exploration uses the four arm lines as a map to begin to understand these myofascial continuities. It’ll stimulate awareness and help participants “see” or sense the arm lines experientially in the body. Simple exercises will be a helpful guide for approaching global movement patterns when faulty compensations exist. Tactile feedback and support tools (Mini Stability Ball™ and Flex-Band™) add imagery and gentle resistance to improve tone, proprioception and circulation. This is followed by a dynamic workout designed to integrate the arm lines with full body motions.

    STOTT PILATES® Mini Foam Roller™ Flow—NEW!

    The 18 inch mini foam roller is the perfect travel prop. Endurance, strength and coordination can be challenged by incorporating fluid and flowing movement sequences into an exercise routine. This new soft and short foam roller will aid in tissue hydration and fascial mobilization in conjunction with joint range of motion and control.     Total Barre™ Modified for Special Populations

    Exercise is critical for clients with limited mobility and restricted movement. Research shows that all active adults can benefit from exercising with music to improve learning, memory, and self-esteem. Music is a mood enhancer and a stress reducer. Following the Total Barre template, appropriate biomechanical principles are taught to help cue, motivate and modify exercises safely for active adult clients with mobility issues. Leave with a client program that increases flexibility, balance and postural stability.

    STOTT PILATES® Mini Stability Ball™ Workout

    This energizing workout incorporates the 12-inch Mini Stability Ball™ to create total-body strengthening and conditioning. Exercises target posture with a major focus on core stability and back mobility while lengthening and strengthening the surrounding muscles. Informed by the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles, you’ll learn how to add variety and fun to traditional mat work routines.     STOTT PILATES® Intermediate Pilates on the BOSU®

    Experience the STOTT PILATES Intermediate Matwork exercises in a entirely new way with the versatile BOSU balance trainer. The BOSU—an inflated rubber demi-ball attached to a rigid platform—effectively targets and conditions the core in standing, kneeling, seated, supine and prone positions.     Halo® Training: Intro to Integrated Bodyweight Training

    Halo® Training provides overall body conditioning. It incorporates strength and endurance work, flexibility training, interval training and injury prevention. In this hands-on workshop instructors are introduced to the essential concepts of the Halo Training program and the basic science of core-integrated bodyweight training. Because every client has unique demands, participants will learn a basic Halo workout and explore how to progress or regress exercises for functional strength and stability, flexibility and injury prevention.

Melanie and her team will share their extensive clinical experience, offer hands-on assistance, provide notes and visual aids to help you expand your understanding and apply your knowledge to your own Pilates practice.This workshop is appropriate for participants who’ve certified in STOTT PILATES mat and reformer (or an equivalent certification) and have a minimum of one-year teaching experience. An education in STOTT PILATES Injuries and Special Populations (ISP) course is preferred.

Following the Total Barre template, appropriate biomechanical principles are taught to help cue, motivate and modify exercises safely for active adult clients with mobility issues. Group Matwork Specialty Track

Experience the STOTT PILATES Intermediate Matwork exercises in a entirely new way with the versatile BOSU balance trainer. The BOSU—an inflated rubber demi-ball attached to a rigid platform—effectively targets and conditions the core in standing, kneeling, seated, supine and prone positions. Learn how to modify the exercises for a range of clients, discover how to use the smaller base of support to intensify a routine, and learn cues and corrections for safety and to target specific muscle groups.
Halo® Training provides overall body conditioning. It incorporates strength and endurance work, flexibility training, interval training and injury prevention. In this hands-on workshop instructors are introduced to the essential concepts of the Halo Training program and the basic science of core-integrated bodyweight training. Because every client has unique demands, participants will learn a basic Halo workout and explore how to progress or regress exercises for functional strength and stability, flexibility and injury prevention.
