The foundation of the STOTT PILATES® exercise repertoire
The Matwork Stream has all the theory and practical skills you’ll need to successfully launch your pilates career. Stream includes:
- Level One Matwork
- Level Two Matwork
This stream also includes all the foundational skills in mat work including cueing, correction and movement analysis that you’ll need as you build your Pilates skills further towards Full Certification. You’ll learn:
- in-depth postural alignment
- muscle balance
- exercise programming skills
- posture analysis
- how to design a Matwork exercise program for individual clients’ needs
- skills and confidence to program and deliver group Matwork classes
Matwork Stream Outline:
Level 1 Matwork (IMP)
IMP provides instructors with the foundation and skills needed to develop effective and motivating personal training programs; some group programming skills will also be covered.

We recommend this to students interested in teaching pilates in a gym setting. This course will help you with group instruction skills to teach safely while keeping classes upbeat and motivating. This course is designed for those who have completed Level 1 Matwork (IMP).
