Apprentice Program
Pacific NW Pilates Apprentice and Mentor Program
One of the ways Pacific NW Pilates helps aspiring instructors attain success is by offering them opportunities to work as apprentices so they can teach actual clients while preparing for certification. This provides an unparalleled opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional setting under the guidance and supervision of a senior STOTT PILATES® instructor.
The Apprentice Program is recommended for those students who have not taught before and is the required training ground for those seeking employment at Pacific NW Pilates.
This program provides:
- An opportunity to work in a professional pilates studio with all STOTT PILATES equipment.
- One or more mentors to consult with during apprenticeship.
- Multiple opportunities to work with clients while being observed by a fully certified instructor.
- 60 hours of supervised teaching to hone practical skills in variety of situations.
Prerequisites:
- Working knowledge of functional anatomy OR successful completion of the Functional Anatomy course at Pacific NW Pilates
- Completion of Level One Matwork and Reformer (IMP and IR)
- At least 30 hours prior pilates study (We highly recommend that some of these hours are private sessions)
Duration:
- 60 hours of unpaid private teaching. All classes are observed by a senior pilates instructor. Duration of apprenticeship is based on the status of the apprentice’s teaching experience.
- Program is conducted over a maximum of 30 weeks.
- There is a $10 fee to join the apprenticeship program.
